York Swing Bridge
Location: Lowe St York WA 6302 Australia
I went to York about 3 years ago , first time taking Reagan their. We stop at the York Swing Bridge and had a picnic for lunch.
Let’s just say Reagan loved jumping and walking the bridge . I wouldn’t do it , I got scared and had to say no .
The banks of the Avon River offer a perfect picnic spot with free gas BBQs, picnic tables, shady trees and public toilet facilities.
I have just hear the is a newly established skate park and playground not far from the bridge which you can walk the along the Avon walk trails as well.
Fact: York’s original swinging bridge was first opened in 1888 after petitioning from residents for a footbridge. In 1896 the bridge was lengthened and moved to its current position and has been rebuilt many times due to damage from flood waters.
